The roots of SATO date back to 1979, when the company was founded as a service base and development office for cutting machines in Mönchengladbach. The company name SATO Schneidmaschinen (SATO Cutting Machines) dates back to 1988 and thus the company has been present on the market for over 40 years. Also in 1988 the serial production of the Satronik HD started and since the mid 90's SATO extended the product range with cutting solutions for oxyfuel, plasma, laser and waterjet cutting systems. In addition, as a systems manufacturer, the company offers various types of machines and controls, software, plasma equipment, drilling units, marking systems, burning tables, and filter systems.

In2017, the SATO company was acquired by Innomax AG. As a result, SATO remains the leading manufacturer of oxyfuel, plasma and laser cutting systems of the highest quality Made in Germany.

Because INNOMAX AG, as a leading supplier of precision waterjet cutting systems, has a very powerful service and sales team, both companies mutually enrich each other. And this not only in the area of service and sales but also in the development of new innovative products and efficient production planning.
The INNOMAX Cutting Group has thus brought together two leading suppliers of cutting technology at the company's headquarters in Mönchengladbach.

Current SATO product range

The SATO product range in 2020 includes the following machines and systems, which will be continuously supplemented and expanded:

Flame cutting of sheet metal and flat steel from 3 mm to 2000 mm material thickness. Oxyfuel flame cutting machines and plasma cutting systems with extensive oxyfuel flame cutting accessories and  different plasma cutting sources from Kjellberg or Hypertherm as the two leading suppliers of plasma cutting systems. Drilling units, chamfering units, marking systems, tube torch units, filter systems and extraction tables are also part of the extensive scope of supply.

• SATRONIK C a space-saving C-frame cutting machine for operations with limited space

• SATRONIK HD a cutting machine for extensive quantities and cutting thicknesses from 10-600 mm

• SATRONIK EHD the flame cutting machine for particularly large workpiece thicknesses up to 2000 mm even when it comes to hot workpieces

• SATRONIK DHD a universal cutting machine for high efficiency, great flexibility and robustness. Can be used for all thermal cutting processes, special applications and material thicknesses up to 600 mm.

Thanks to the reliable service and sales network, spare parts and service are also available for older flame cutting machines. We regularly have well-maintained used Sato oxyfuel cutting machines and plasma cutting equipment available.
