Functioning of a Peddinghaus FDB 600 Plate Processor, sheet metal processing machine

The operating principle of the FDB 600 Plate processor is simple and reliable. After programming a component dimension on the CAD system (top plate, base plate, gussed plate, flange, etc.) with the required holes, the NC data generated by the programming software in DSTV or DXF format is transferred to the Siemens CNC control of the machine. (usually Siemens CNC after retrofit sometimes Fagor CNC).

The flat material (at least 50 mm wide and a maximum of 600 mm wide) is then laid down on the inclined inflow roller table (usually 6 m long) and brought to the belt tensioner of the roller measuring feed.
After the material is clamped in the feed unit, it is precisely positioned via a measuring disk and the zero point. Thereafter, the previously programmed positions are drilled with an HSS oil feed drill (cooling channel drill) in the diameter range of 8 mm to 40 mm, or provided with a marking (short drilling to obtain a point in the sheet metal).
Subsequently, the flat steel with the transport rollers is further transported to the gas-oxygen burning unit. The contour data previously generated in the Siemens control system is then burned out with an autogenous burner (usually oxygen with propane gas or acetylene gas). The finished drilled and burned component can now be removed from the slidable, sloping output roller conveyor. The deburring of the bores and cutting edges is usually carried out by the machine operator next to the machine while the machine is already producing the next component
