Kaltenbach KBS 1010-KDS 1015

The KALTENBACH KBS1010 DG–KDS1015 is a CNC-controlled drilling and sawing machine with an automatic material handling system for the cost-effective machining of structural steel.

The Kaltenbach system is suitable for sawing, drilling, thread cutting, countersinking, marking, and the automatic positioning of structural beams, square and rectangular tubes, U-channels, angle iron, and flat steel.

The machine combination consists of a high-performance KBS 1010 DG horizontal band saw, a three-axis KDS 1015 CNC profile drilling machine, the T13 material transport system, and an M151G length measurement system. All machining processes are automatically controlled via the KALTENBACH PROFILINE control system. Machining programs can be created in DSTV format and transferred directly to the system.

Thanks to the combination of automatic length measurement, hydraulic workpiece clamping, a tool change system, and automatic material transport, the system is particularly well-suited for cost-effective use in steel construction, the steel trade, industrial building construction, and metal fabrication. The integrated material logistics reduce non-productive time and enable a continuous production process.

KALTENBACH KBS 1010 DG Horizontal Band Saw

The horizontal band saw features a double miter device and is designed for the automatic cutting of steel sections up to a section width of 1,010 mm. The cutting speed is infinitely variable. Automatic cutting pressure control, hydraulic workpiece clamping, and band monitoring ensure high cutting quality and long tool life.

KALTENBACH KDS 1015 CNC Profile Drilling Machine

The profile drilling machine is equipped with three CNC-controlled drilling units. An automatic tool changer enables machining with carbide and HSS coolant-channel drills, as well as countersinks and threading tools. The PROFILINE software manages the tools and automatically programs the machining sequences. Optionally, profiles can be marked.

T13 Material Transport System and M151G Material Positioning System

The material transport system automatically feeds profiles to and from the drilling machine and the band saw. Roller conveyors, cross-conveyors, and positioning systems ensure a continuous flow of material and enable fully automatic machining of long profile beams. Safety barriers, light curtains, and interlocked safety doors ensure safe system operation.
