The HDM metal circular saw series with large saw blade diameters has been available for many years and in a large number of different models. Some of the Kaltenbach circular saw models HDM 750, HDM 800, HDM 1300, HDM 1430, HDM 1431, HDM 1432 etc. are used in various applications worldwide. Kaltenbach cold circular saws have a particularly clean cutting action and are characterized by a very high level of reliability. Even if regrinding the segment saw blades allows them to be used several times over, the use of band saws is sometimes more economical. The use of modern metal band saws means that the use of large circular saws is becoming less and less common.

Kaltenbach HDM 1432

The Kaltenbach HDM 1234 is a vertical circular saw for metal designed specifically to meet the demanding requirements of heavy steel construction and the steel trade.

The HDM 1432 is designed for the fast and precise cutting of large steel sections and allows for single, stacked, and bundle cuts. With a maximum working area of 1,200 × 450 mm at 90°, the HDM 1432 is particularly well-suited for large profile cross-sections. The vertical saw’s sturdy swivel mount and powerful drive ensure high cutting performance and short processing times. The temperature-independent feed via a ball screw supports precise cutting results while also contributing to long saw blade service life.

For miter cuts of -45°/90°/+35°, the machine features an NC-controlled cutting angle adjustment, enabling precise and repeatable positioning. A powerful hydraulic clamping system reduces vibrations during the sawing process, thereby improving both cut quality and saw blade life. In addition, automatic cross-section measurement during clamping enhances process reliability.

The HDM 1432 operates with a saw blade diameter of 1,430 mm x 9.5 mm and, with a drive power of 22 kW, achieves a cutting speed of 8 to 30 m/min. With its robust machine design and a machine weight of approximately 9,500 kg, it is specifically designed for continuous industrial use and the machining of heavy steel profiles.

One advantage is the ability to expand the HDM 1432 with a Kaltenbach drilling machine to create a combined sawing and drilling system. This allows it to be optimally integrated into automated manufacturing processes in steel construction.
