Kaltenbach KF 1505

The Kaltenbach KF 1505 sheet metal processing center is suitable for automatic drilling and flame cutting of sheet metal and flat steel. The Kaltenbach KF 1505 is equipped with an oxy-fuel cutting unit and/or a plasma cutting unit as well as a drilling unit with a tool changer. The KF 1505 is the successor model to the WBZ 1500. The sheets or flats are conveyed through the machine by a solid gripper measuring carriage via a roller conveyor with rack and pinion in the X-axis. The maximum flat steel size is (W x L) 1,500 mm x 6,000 mm. The Kaltenbach KF 1505 model is still partly used in steel construction and the steel trade, but has been replaced by the successor model KF 1606 with a new generation of controls and drives.

Kaltenbach KF 1606

The Kaltenbach KF 1606 sheet metal processing center is suitable for automatic drilling, thread cutting and flame cutting of sheet metal and flat steel.

The Kaltenbach sheet metal processing center is ideally suited for the production of top plates, base plates and gusset plates in steel construction, the steel trade and plant engineering.
The KF1606 is equipped with an oxyfuel cutting unit and a plasma cutting unit as well as a powerful drilling unit with a tool changer. Carbide drills, solid carbide drills or HSS coolant channel drills are used for high-performance drilling of the steel sheets. To increase the performance and durability of the tools, minimum quantity lubrication with nencool micro cooling lubricant is used. The metal sheets or flat steel are conveyed through the machine with a solid gripper measuring carriage via a roller conveyor in X-axis. Depending on the scope of equipment, the plate marking can be done with an embossing wheel or a scribing tool. A powerful extraction unit with filter system is required for cutting fume extraction.

Commercially available metal sheets up to 1600 mm wide, 6 - 60 mm thick and 6000 mm long as well as metal strips and flat steel from a width of 100 mm are reliably conveyed through the system using the gripper measuring device. The length measuring system in the X-axis consists of a double gripper measuring carriage with a hydraulic collet, which is guided on a stable rack and thus positions the sheet at the respective processing station for the flame cutting process or drilling. The installed Kaltenbach software, in conjunction with the CNC control system, ensures the precise positioning of the individual drive axes. This enables automatic drilling and flame cutting. An automatic tool changer is available for a selection of different drill diameters.

Oxyfuel and plasma cutting

An oxyfuel flame cutting unit or a plasma cutting unit from the manufacturers Hypertherm Plasma or Kjellberg Plasma are available for flame cutting. Sheets with a material thickness of up to 30 mm are usually cut with the plasma unit and thicker material thicknesses are cut with the oxy-fuel unit. Both flame cutting units are equipped with remote ignition, flame monitoring and automatic height distance control.

Donaldson filter and extraction system

A powerful cartridge filter system filters the cutting gases produced during plasma cutting.

Kaltenbach drilling unit

A powerful drilling unit ensures high drilling performance with carbide tools. The drilling spindle has a drive power of 26 kW and a spindle speed of 150 - 2000 rpm. A 6-position tool changer ensures fast and automatic tool changes.
The drilling unit is suitable for the use of carbide and solid carbide tools, which you can obtain from Nenok including the suitable nencool micro cooling lubricant. Center punching, countersinking and thread cutting is also possible with the appropriate tools.

Kaltenbach KF 1606 embossing unit

The machine is equipped with an embossing unit for embossing letters and numbers. The stable embossing wheel is controlled by the CNC control unit. Optionally, a position number can be embossed into the sheet metal which is still visible after blasting or galvanizing.

Material transport system

The Kaltenbach KF1606 sheet metal processing center is supplied with an infeed roller conveyor for 6,000 mm long sheet metal panels as well as a storage table and integrated rollers on the outfeed side. The roller conveyor is equipped with 3 cross tractors on the infeed side. Length measurement is carried out by means of a stable gripper measuring carriage with hydraulic double gripper.

The Kaltenbach KF 2506 plate processing center is suitable for automatic drilling, thread cutting and flame cutting of sheet metal and flat steel. The Kaltenbach KF 2506 is equipped with an oxyfuel cutting unit and a plasma cutting unit (Hypertherm Plasma or Kjellberg Plasma) as well as a powerful drilling unit with 26 kW drive power and a tool changer with 6 positions. The Kaltenbach KF 2506 plate processing centers built from 2009 onwards are designed for use with the latest generation of carbide drilling tools. The metal sheets or flat steel are conveyed through the machine on a roller conveyor in the X-axis using a solid gripper measuring carriage. The maximum flat steel dimensions are (W x L) 2,500 mm x 6,000 mm, the material thickness 6 - 60 mm. Depending on the scope of equipment, plate marking can be carried out with an embossing wheel or a scribing tool. Kaltenbach KF 2512

The Kaltenbach KF 2512 sheet metal processing center is suitable for automatic drilling, tapping and flame cutting of sheet metal and flat steel. The Kaltenbach KF 2512 is equipped with two oxy-fuel cutting units and two plasma cutting units (from Hypertherm Plasma or Kjellberg Plasma) as well as two powerful drilling units, each with an output of 26 kW, and a tool changer with 6 positions. The Kaltenbach KF 2512 sheet metal processing centers built from 2009 onwards are designed for use with the latest generation of carbide drilling tools. The metal sheets or flat steel are conveyed through the machine on a roller conveyor in the X-axis using a solid gripper measuring carriage.
