Container sizes and dimensions
Box Container
The box container (also called sea container) is one of the most widely used closed means of transport worldwide. The industrial goods are protected by the continuous steel shell. However, when transporting goods by sea, it is still essential to protect the goods against environmental influences such as salty sea air and strong temperature differences. Cargo securing is carried out during container loading by the employee responsible for loading.

20“ Box Container, inner dimension length 5898 mm x width 2352 mm x height 2390 mm
40“ Box Container, inner dimension length 12032 mm x width 2352 mm x height 2390 mm
High Cube Container
The High Cube Container is approx. 300 mm higher than the Box Container.
Open Top Container (OT Container)
In the OT container, the container lid or roof consists of a removable tarpaulin and light cross braces. This tarpaulin and the struts can be easily removed and allow bulky industrial goods to be loaded by crane from above. With this type of container, however, the industrial goods are much less protected against environmental influences and must therefore be prepared much more carefully for the sea transport.
20” OT Container, inner dimension length 5750 mm x width 2082 mm x height 2270 mm
40” OT Container, inner dimension length 12.029 mm x width 2342 mm x height 2326 mm
Flat Rack Container
A flat rack container has no steel wall on the two long sides and is therefore particularly suitable for loading bulky industrial goods. This type of container consists of a stable floor with two end walls and can be stacked and loaded like a standard container. Transport weights of 40 tonnes (at times also 50 tonnes) are possible due to the strong floor construction.

40” Flat Rack Container, inner dimension length 11884 mm x width 2082 mm x height 2270 mm
