PEDDINGHAUS BDL 1250/9D drilling system in combination with MEBA 1270 DGP mitre band saw

This Peddinghaus drilling saw combination consists of the Peddinghaus BDL 1250/9D profile beam drilling system with 3 drilling axes with 3 drilling units per axis, a roller measuring system and the MEBAtop 1270 DGP band saw for mitre cuts.
This drilling saw system is suitable for profile dimensions in cross-section from min. 75 mm x 50 mm to max. 1250 mm x 600 mm and for profile lengths of max. 19,000 mm. This powerful drill saw combination is ideal for large steel construction companies or steel traders who require a high throughput of profile beams, square tubes, angle steel, U-iron and flat steel. According to information from the Peddinghaus website, there are several customers who describe production outputs of 200 tons of steel in a 40-hour week. We do not know whether these performance data can also be achieved under European conditions, but this statement nevertheless allows conclusions to be drawn about the high performance of the system. The drilling saw line is also equipped with a Signomat and a comprehensive transport system.

Peddinghaus BDL 1250/9D drilling line

The Peddinghaus BDL 1250/9D is a very stable profile drilling machine designed for heavy-duty use in heavy steel construction. The well-known roller measuring system together with stable material clamping ensure fast material transport of the various steel profiles to the exact processing point for drilling, marking and sawing. A central, highly reliable Siemens 840 Di CNC control system reliably transmits all axis commands and position data to the individual drilling axes and measuring systems of the entire system, including the Meba band saw.
This CNC drilling system with Siemens 840 Di control is ideally suited for drilling, countersinking, marking and center punching profile steel. The maximum processing width (profile beam height) is 1250 mm. The drive power of the drilling motors is 18.5 kW with a spindle speed of min. 145 rpm - max. 1800 rpm. The 9 drilling spindles (3 per axis) with internal coolant supply are suitable for the use of Nenok HSS coolant channel drills as well as the latest generation of carbide drills. The drilling diameter is a minimum of 8 mm and a maximum of 50 mm. The special hydraulic material clamping system of the BDL 1250 guarantees low-vibration material feed through the machine. The reduction of vibrations extends the service life of carbide tools. The stable Peddinghaus BDL 1250/9D drilling rig weighs approx. 14,710 kg.

MEBAtop 1270 DGP band saw

The MEBAtop 1270 DGP is a mitre bandsaw with a portal frame design. The band saw unit is mounted in the portal frame and swivels above the material. This means that the swivel gearbox is less exposed to contamination from chips or cooling lubricants. Residual pieces and waste are also reduced. The mitre swivel range is max. 45°/60° depending on the installation variant. The saw blade dimensions are 9800 mm x 67 mm x 1.6 mm. The net saw weight is approx. 9,000 kg with machine dimensions of 3650 mm x 5800 mm x 3000 mm.

MEBAtop 1270 DGP Cutting ranges

With a mitre cut clockwise of 45°, the profile size for rectangular material such as IPE profile supports is max. 900 mm x 600 mm, counterclockwise max. 850 mm x 600 mm.
The remaining piece length is approx. 30 mm. The band saw has a cutting speed of 15 - 150 m/min with a drive power of 14.5 kW.

Peddinghaus BDL 1250 roller measuring system:

The Peddinghaus roller measuring feed uses hardened transport rollers to transport the material in the longitudinal direction (X-axis) to the individual processing stations for drilling, marking and sawing. Precise measuring disks control the exact material position via rotary encoders. The exact position information is sent to the servomotors via the CNC control system.

Peddinghaus material transport system

The transport system consists of a stable roller conveyor in the material infeed and a roller conveyor in the outfeed area. Cross drag systems ensure the transverse transport of the steel profiles.

Material infeed side

The infeed roller conveyor is 20.5 m long. The infeed side has 6 cross tractors as a lifting system, each with a total length of 9800 mm and a support surface of 9500 mm for the transverse movement of the profile beams.

Outfeed side material

The outfeed roller conveyor is 18 m long. The outfeed side has 5 cross tractors as a chain drag system with a total length of 5300 mm each and a support surface of 5000 mm for the cross feed of the profile beams.

The total length of the drilling saw system is approx. 48 m, the maximum material weight is 500 kg per meter or a total of 19,800 kg. The minimum material length is 1,700 mm.
The working height of the system is approx. 630 mm.
