The vertical bandsaw is equipped with a vertically operating saw blade.

With vertical bandsaws, the mitre adjustment is carried out either by a swivelling machine table or by swivelling the saw blade guide frame to the right or left.

Due to their design, vertical bandsaws have a larger sawing range compared to horizontal bandsaws, while taking up less space. The vertical bandsaw is mainly used in tool and mold making, as well as for sawing and trimming rolled blocks or rolled plates. The saw blade runs vertically. This band saw variant is occasionally used in steel construction and metal construction. The vertical bandsaw is available with manual, semi-automatic or fully automatic mitre adjustment.
